When I was four, my brother (who was two and a half) and I were asked to be on a Fourth of July float in the Piedmont Parade. We were to be on the Liberty Bell float, and I wore a light blue liberty bell-shaped dress, and my brother Rob wore a matching eggsuit. I really took to parading, waving and throwing candy to the crowd. My brother however, cried the whole way. My mother said it was the cutest thing she had ever seen. Too bad she didn’t have a camera with her.
Let this sad sad story be a lesson to all of us on the Fourth of July. Bring your cameras, Mommas. Something cute might occur.
