Cat Nap

File this under “Things I never thought I Would do Until I Had a Baby.” I fell asleep on a pile of clean (but unfolded) laundry… with the cat, of course. It was her idea.

So, not only do babies seem to not know how to eat, but my baby doesn’t want to eat, either. In fact, some of the faces she’s given me have been not only confused, but rather accusatory. As if this feeding procedure is a punishment for a crime for which she’s blaming the cat.

We started with the Happy Baby baby rice cereal. Boy, is it stinky. I wouldn’t want to eat it either. So, a friend suggested adding banana. The baby still looked at is as if I was suggesting she have a vodka cocktail for lunch. But then we made apple sauce. Oh, applesause. How I don’t hate you.

Clever baby! (Clever Husband!)

But I would never stoop to pornography. So, I found this wonderful substitute. Make sure you scroll alllll the way down. If that’s not enough hottie for you, try watching Glee’s new video of Olivia Newton John’s “Physical.” And there’s also this: hottie.

OK, so I stole that title from the film based on two of Sarah Dessen‘s books. Whatever. So these are the books I can handle reading right now. They’re for kids, or teens, or something.

I’m not sure if I’ve shared this with readers who don’t know me, since it’s kind-of a dark secret, but in my real life, I’m an English professor at a local college. So, it’s a bit of a deeper darker secret that my favorite literature today is YA (that stands for Young Adult, for those of you not in the book biz.)

But it’s all this mom can handle mentally. And you know what? It’s really good!
